Is Back Pain Pleurisy?

For the past week I’ve had this ache (left side) in the shoulder blade (mid back area) area which, I thought to be a pulled muscle. I’ve applied a heating pad that really has not helped. When I move my head in a certain position is when I feel it more. I also have some discomfort in my wrist. Could this be pleurisy?

This does not sound like pleurisy. The pain of pleurisy is under the arm, or beneath the breast or in the chest. The pain of pleurisy causes difficulty breathing. Other symptoms may include swelling of eyelids, thirst, dry cough, and swelling of the legs and ankles in the evening.

If you are worried that this could be serious, you should consult with a doctor. Please see other entries for back pain on our website www.richters.com:
