Chickweed for Polycystic Ovaries?

I’ve heard that chickweed dissolves cysts and would be good to use for these. I’ve been experiencing intense burning pains in my lower abdomen area and my periods are becoming more painful, as well as producing brown blood. My body has been estrogen dominant for a while (6 years?) and I’ve been trying my best to stay balanced by eating right and taking supplements. It has helped a little, but the pain is becoming more intense.

I am 33, have never experienced intercourse, so the possibility of an STD is unlikely, and with the exception of 2 months when I was 19, I’ve never been on birth control either. The condition runs in my family, so I’m inclined to think cysts are the problem.

I have not been officially diagnosed with this yet, I am waiting for my appointment to see the doctor. I wanted to get your opinion and also know if you’d recommend any additional herbs or treatments to try along with, or instead of chickweed. I’d rather do this the natural way.

I haven’t heard about using chickweed for polycystic ovaries. We do have information about polycystic`ovaries on our website www.richters.com. Choose "Q&A" from the main menu, then enter "polycystic" for the search. The dietary approach, low carbohydrate and low glycemic index, appears to be the most effective treatment for balancing hormones in PCOS.
