I want to know the medicinal importance of plant species Cassia nodosa.

This tree is native of Burma and Malaysia. It is known as "pink cassia", "pink mohur" (India) and "pink shower" (U.S.A.). It is grown as an ornamental tree in Asia, Africa and America. It does not seem to possess much importance as a medicinal plant. In Ghana the pods are used as a laxative. In southeast Asia the leaves are sometimes eaten even though they have purgative properties. The roots are high in saponins.
