I have this cough that I get ever so often, it is sometimes a dry cough, this time mucous comes up sometimes when I cough. Something could irritate my throat and I’ll start coughing, I went to the doctor. He gave me anti’s, but I want a natural cure/help. What do you suggest?

A cough is just a symptom whether it is dry or mucousy. As such, you need to address the underlying cause. It sounds like you may be having a sympathetic referral. The mucous is a common response to irritation as the body is trying to create a barrier from the irritator (i.e. foods, pathogen, etc.) and the mucous membrane lining of any of the systems that share the this same embryonic tissue – lungs, digestive system (from mouth to rectum), tubes to ears and bladder. It could be that your digestive system is irritated which then refers to your respiratory system as they are comprised of the same embryonic tissue and therefore acts in sympathy to the irritation. To find the underlying issue that is causing the irritation, a diet diary may be helpful or look to common irritating foods such as wheat or dairy.
