Is Wood Betony Still Available?

About 3-4 years ago I ordered "Wood Betony" plants from your printed catalog. Since then I have not seen this offered. (I don’t recall the Latin name you listed.) They’ve performed amazingly, and I want more for spring 2008! My plants look similar to your current website photo of Stachys officinalis. Is this the same plant you offered several years back? The website photo also looks like "Lamb’s Ears Hummelo," now widely available. But your plant blossoms are more purple, a bit taller, and hardier. I’m hoping, and would like to know, if your stachys is the same beautiful, hardy wood betony that I ordered before.

Thanks so much — I’ve been very pleased with your service and products.

"Betony" and "wood betony" are the same plant, Stachy officinalis. The variety has not changed so you should get the same variety you ordered before. What we sell is the species that has been in cultivation for centuries. Named varieties of Stachys officinalis are not available.

Always glad to hear that our customers are happy with our products and service!
