| Centennial Hops |
| Humulus lupulus 'Centennial'|
| Uses: Medicinal/Beverage/Industrial
|| Duration: Perennial (hardy in zones 3-8) |
Sometimes called “super Cascade” because it has nearly double the alpha acids of Cascade. Many craft brewers like it because of its balance of aroma and bitterness, and because of its high oil and lupulin contents. The high lupulin gives it a nice dark yellow color. The aroma is floral and citrusy. Centennial has a dense compact cone that is medium in size, and has good harvesting, drying and baling characteristics. Also used in landscapes because of its dark green foliage and habit. |
