Humulus lupulus 'Hallertauer'
Uses: Medicinal/Beverage/Industrial Duration: Perennial (hardy in zones 3-8)
Traditional German noble aroma type with a subtle floral and spicy aroma and very low bittering value. Called for in many classic beer recipes and in premium beers. Requires well-drained acidic soils, high in humic acids. Commands a higher price than other Hallertau hybrids. Alpha acid 3-5.5%.
