Magnum Hops
Humulus lupulus 'Magnum'
Uses: Medicinal/Beverage/Industrial Duration: Perennial (hardy in zones 3-8)
A German hybrid grown for extract or bittering use. Introduced in 1980, it is a cross involving Galena. It is considered a very clean hop because it adds no dominating aroma during brewing, while its bittering is not harsh even though the high alpha acids are high at 13-15%. Used in many beers and pairs well with low bittering aroma hops.
