Dont let the stinging hairs scare you away from this truly incredible herb! Extremely versatile as it has both medicinal and culinary applications. Nettle is a highly nutritive herb that strengthens and supports the entire body; rich in Vitamin A, Iron, Calcium and a plethora of antioxidants! Even the ancient Egyptians recognized it as being an effective remedy for joint pain and lumbago and now used for allergic rhinitis, eczema as well as arthritis. Its diuretic action helps to improve benign prostatic hyperplasia and promote the overall health of the urinary tract. Brew into a tonifying tea, cook like spinach, or use in nettle soup! Drying and cooking removes stinging effect of the leaves. Can be harvested throughout the summer. As a distant mint relative, it is no surprise that it has no trouble growing just about anywhere and spread must be managed!
