Charming European woodland wildflower not to be confused with cowslip which has brighter flowers. Roots are traditionally valued for their antibacterial properties and ability to help expel phlegm during respiratory infections. Flowers bloom from March-May and attracts bees, butterflies and other pollinators. Seeds need chill cycle to germinate and should be sown in the fall. Sow in moist clay soils. Thrives in part shade but is tolerant to full shade. Ht 1m. Spread 0.1-0.5m.
