A nutritious bright green seaweed with lettuce like leaves used as a condiment in Asia! Widely distributed but most commonly found along the Irish shoreline and in temperate, cooler seas. Nutritionally dense, as a natural source of iodine, sodium, potassium, manganese, magnesium, copper, zinc, calcium and iron as well as a wide variety of vitamins, fibre and protein! Especially beneficial for those on vegetarian or vegan diets, as it is a good source nutrients difficult to acquire without meat. Has even been infused into high end face creams as sea lettuce extract promotes the synthesis of hyaluronic acid, improving moisture. Can be used in soups and salads.
