A seaweed that looks and tastes like spinach with a seaweed-like slippery texture. Wakame can be used in soup and as an addition to green or fruit salads. Dried wakame soaked in water expands to at least 10 times its original size. Typically, 30 grams of dried wakame is soaked in water in a large bowl for 30 minutes. Drain the water and remove the stems and chop the leaves into bite-sized pieces. Dip in boiling water briefly and then serve.
