A traditional stuffing tomato frequently found on display in the fresh food markets of Sicily, especially in Palermo, the capital. The flattened, deeply ribbed, and partly hollowed tomatoes are commonly used for stuffing, sauces and pastes. When sliced and served with mozzarella, basil, olive oil and vinegar, they are a veritable feast to the eyes! The hefty fruits can get up to 6 ounces in size. Indeterminate: needs staking. 105 days.
