Tashkent Brown & White Bean
Phaseolus vulgaris 'Tashkent'
Uses: Culinary Duration: Annual
When to Sow: Spring Ease of Germination: Easy
These beans were sold to us by an Azerbaijani woman who said that they came from farmers in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This is a very impressive large sized bean that seems to be perfectly suited for cold cooked bean salads and soups. The habit of the bean is not known, it could be a bush or it could be a vine.
