Cardinal Basil

A stunning basil with large burgundy flower bracts. The leaves can be used like any other sweet basil, but you can also pick the red flower bracts and sprinkle them over salads, egg dishes, soup, etc. for flavour and for colour. With its colour, strong fragrance, and long deep purple stems, this also makes an excellent cutflower. It tolerates heavy cutting well so multiple cuttings are possible. And it may be resistant to downy mildew according to one report. Ht. 75cm/30in.
