(Mousemelon; Sandita; Mexican sour gherkin) Cute little grape-sized cukes! Known in Mexico as "Sandita" or "little watermelon", these cute melons have been a staple in the local diet since pre-Columbian times. They are about the size of a large grape and taste like cucumber with a sharp tinge of lime. They can be a little slow from seeds but once the warm weather arrives they take off. Eat them straight off the plant or try them in salads, on bruschetta, in stir-fries, sauces, or pickle them with mint and dill. Easy to grow, pest-free, and hugely productive. 65 days.
