(Sri tulsi; Rama tulsi) This is true green sacred basil, traditionally grown in homes, gardens, and near temples throughout India. The aromatic leaves have a soft, slightly sweet, grassy flavour with gentle clove notes and a low-to-mild camphor presence, making it smoother and more approachable than many other basils. It is well-suited for teas, daily tonics, and herbal blends where a gentle flavour is desired, and can also be enjoyed fresh in salads and other cold dishes. Please note that much of what is sold as sacred or holy basil is actually spice basil, which is listed separately.
