A splayed out, compact bush with a dense hedgehog like growth habit. Produces soft violet blossoms with high yielding pungent camphorous oils. Commercially important strain from the Vaucluse district of France. Discovered in 1972 when the standard commercial strain was nearly destroyed by disease. Lavender must be located in full sun and planted in well drained alkaline sandy soil, ideally in a raised bed or rock garden as it is prone to root rot if conditions are too wet. Height 75cm/30”.
