This is altogether different from the well known Hidcote variety that has been grown in gardens for years. Hidcote is an English lavender (L. angustifolia) while Hidcote Giant is a lavandin (L. x intermedia), and is a much taller plant with beautiful dark purple fat blossoms on long stems, up to 60cm/24in long. The colour holds very well in drying making this an outstanding variety for dried arrangements and bouquets. Ht. 1m/36-40in.
