This hybrid has shown very good resistance to fusarium in laboratory tests conducted for us by Dr. Robert Wick of the University of Massachusetts the leading U.S. authority on fusarium in basil. This is an important development for commercial growers and for basil lovers who have lived through the frustration of watching fusarium infected plants wilt and die almost overnight.
This disease-resistant hybrid basil is an exception to our pledge to not offer hybrid seeds. We offer it because fusarium is a devastating problem for commercial growers in many areas.
