Good resistance to downy mildew! Beautiful dark purple Genovese basil with a stately upright habit. Excellent for for both gardens and pots. Developed by careful hybrid crossing, this has proved to be highly resistant to the DM-0 race of downy mildew, a widespread fungus that easily infects and destroys other varieties of sweet basil. It is also resistant to fusarium, an equally devastating disease.
This disease-resistant hybrid basil is an exception to our pledge to not offer hybrid seeds. We offer it because downy mildew and fusarium are increasing problems for commercial growers in many areas.
