Herbs for Nervous Cat Answered by: Conrad Richter Question from: Dennis Koth Posted on: December 5, 2001
Could you tell me what natural herb we could use to calm our cat when we go on trips. It would make things so much easier.
According to Juliette de Bairacli Levy in her book, "The Complete Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Cat" (available from Richters), hysteria in animals can be treated safely with scullcap tea. She says that scullcap "actually feeds and builds the nerves as well as soothing them". She also recommends rosemary, rue, hops, lime blossom, lemon verbena and vervain. Honey is very beneficial also.
