Cat and Vomiting

My four year old, indoor cat can vomit up to a couple times a week but most of the time a couple of times a month. She is a little plumper than she probably should be, but not by much and her coat is healthy and shiny. She’s always had a clean bill of health when we’ve taken her in for check-ups. She loves it when I bring her lemon grass from my garden; is there something I can grow in a window that that she can eat to help settle her tummy?

It is important that your cat be on a good, homemade diet as many commercial foods can contribute to problems such as vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation. Please see the entry "Ringworm" on this site (www.richters.com) for resources containing recipes. You may find that once her diet has changed that the vomiting stops. As for windowsill plants, most cats love wheatgrass: easy to grow and often sold as "Catgrass" at most pet shops. Couchgrass (Agropyren repens) also works well.
