Ringworm in Cats and Dogs

Do you have any herbal remedies for ringworm in cats & dogs?

As this fungal infection passes directly from the environment in which the animal lives, it is most important that their living area be as clean as possible; there are a number of concentrated citrus-based cleaners on the market that should be of use. Second, parasites seldom affect hosts who are healthy so putting your dog or cat on a good, homemade diet will help immeasureably. Resources may be found in books such as Richard Pitcairn’s, "Natural Health for Dogs and Cats", "The Complete Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Cat" by Juliette de Bairacli Levy and "The Barf Diet" by Ian Billinghurst. Next, you can prepare a rinse of fresh or dried Sage leaves (Salvia officinalis) at two tablespoons leaf to one cup boiling water. Let steep (covered) for 15 minutes and strain. Once at body temperature, dip a clean cotton cloth in the tea and gently rinse the affected area. Do this twice a day. I have also heard of people using undiluted fresh lemon juice as a rinse to good effect.
