Cat and Plant Digging

I have a cat that is about 8 to 9 months old. I have to keep my house plants up as he likes to dig in them. He is an indoor cat and has been neutered. What can I use that would be safe for him and my plants?

The easiest thing to do is to find some stones of varying sizes (2 inches in diameter up to fist-size) and place them on the soil surrounding your plant. This will stop the cat from being able to dig and still allow the plant to breathe. It may also be that your cat is not fond of his cat litter or litter-box and is using the dirt surrounding your plants instead. Most cats seem happy with a non-scented, 99% dust free clumping litter and to have their box placed somewhere secluded. By and large, they do not care to have too many cats using the same box, so if this is the case, you may want to bring in an extra box, ideally one on each floor of your home.
