Cats and Tapeworm

Is there any natural way to get rid of tapeworms? I have two cats who are excellent mousers. They are both well fed, but they still eat the odd mouse and end up with tapeworm about 2 or 3 times a year. Is there anything natural that would be effective? Also -- is there a tea rinse that would deter fleas on a dog?

It might be best to rid your cats of tapeworms through the use of homeopathy. Purchase homeopathic Cina in a 3X potency if you can find it, if not, then in a 6C potency. Give one tablet to each cat twice a day for three weeks after which their stool should be checked by a vet to make sure no vestige of tapeworms remain. To give your cat homeopathics, place one pellet on a teaspoon and, placing another matching teaspoon on top, crush the pellet between the two spoons. Push the crushed bits towards the edge of the spoon. With one hand, open you cat’s mouth whilst with the other tip the contents of the teaspoon in his/her mouth. The crushed pellets will quickly dissolve on your cat’s tongue. Do not give food within an hour on either side of the homeopathic dosing.

Regarding fleas, please see this website (www.richters.com) for the posting entitled "Cats, Fleas and Pennyroyal". Although the title says "cats" the information therein applies to both cats and dogs. Also please see that same posting regarding nutrition in relation to your tapeworm question above.
