Cat Dandruff Answered by: Kerry Hackett Question from: Sally Ann Loupus Posted on: April 02, 2006
We have black (house) cat and she looks like she has dandruff. Any suggestions?
Often found alongside dry, greasy fur, dandruff affects both cats and dogs. This condition is often entirely due to diet. I would heartily suggest you look at the work of Richard Pitcairn "Natural Health for Dogs and Cats", "The Complete Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Cat" by Juliette de Bairacli Levy and "The Barf Diet" by Ian Billinghurst for ideas on great food you can make at home. Most people find that once their cat or dog shifts to a homemade diet, the animal’s fur becomes soft, glossy and thick, whilst the greasiness and dandruff disappear.
