Cat and Bloating

I have a question about my one cat. He will be 1 year old this May. He seems to have a bloated tummy and I don’t know what to do for him. Are there any herbs that can help him with bloating or gas?

Bloating and gas is usually due to improper digestion so my initial concern would be your cat’s diet. First and foremost, please have a look at Richard Pitcairn’s "Natural Health for Dogs and Cats", "The Complete Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Cat" by Juliette de Bairacli Levy and "The Barf Diet" by Ian Billinghurst for ideas about homemade foods; they really make a difference and can have life-long benefits for your young cat. Beyond that, you might want to add 1/4 human dose of a probiotic (acidophilus) to the cat’s food once a day. There are also digestive enzyme capsules formulated especially for cats; see a good pet food store for these and follow package directions.
