Garden Herbs to help with Fleas

I have just taken my daughter’s dog who, we recently have found out, is very very allergic to fleas. I want to start a herb garden and would like to plant something I could use to help him in some way. Any suggestions?

The following herbs are often used in herbal flea rinses and so should be useful if grown in your garden: Feverfew herb (Tanacetum parthenium), Calendula flowers (Calendula officinalis), Celery seeds (Apium graveolens), Yarrow herb/flowers (Achillea millefolium) and Mullein flowers (Verbascum thapsus). In addition, a common reason an animal may have a large reaction to fleas is that it’s health is not optimum. Fleas, being parasites with short life cycles, only attack a host whose body is not functioning as well as it might. Therefore, I would suggest that you strengthen your dog’s vital force by feeding it a good, homemade diet. Please see the works of Richard Pitcairn, "Natural Health for Dogs and Cats", "The Complete Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Cat" by Juliette de Bairacli Levy and "The Barf Diet" by Ian Billinghurst for further information.
