Suggestions for New Herbal Hair Colouring Agents

We are manufacturers of herbal hair colors from India. We generally blend henna with indigo and some of the other Indian herbs or natural extracts like Rubia cordifolia etc to make natural herbal hair colors. But these products with indigo after some items either become purple or orangish, we are looking for some new herbs may be cultivated around the world, which we can mix with our herbal hair colors to get more darker and blackish color with more stability.

Traditionally, sage, rosemary, oak bark and chamomile have been used to alter hair colour along with henna and can easily be found in herb books for this purpose. However, for other herbs I suspect that if one peruses the literature for herbs as dyes, in terms of dying wool and fabrics, other herbs will come to light. For example blacken walnut hulls have been used to darken wool to dark brown colour.
