I remember seeing some plants listed as being good to plant in a vegetable garden that will keep spider mites away from tomato plants, but I can’t find that information in my catalog now. Can you please provide guidance on what plants are used for such purposes? Every year for the last 5 years our tomato plants thrive in the beginning then are invaded with spider mites and kills the plants.

I would suggest to plant the tomatoes in a different spot this summer. The companion plants most often mentioned for controlling spider mites on tomato plants are, garlic, chives and marigolds. There are also organic sprays like Safers Trounce, that you can purchase from Richters.
