Chicory for Beverage Use

Is chicory an herb?

We consider it a herb. We sell seeds so you can grow your own. It’s easy to grow, and you can dry and roast your own roots for coffee-like beverages.

Where can I purchase it. Our friend gets hers from France in the form of large granules to be used in place of coffee. We love it.

We also carry unroasted dried roots. You would need to roast them to get the chicory beverage you want.

The commercial product (such as the one from France) is carefully prepared and processed to resemble coffee as close as possible. This is hard to do with a homemade product. But if you are more adventurous and not so fixated on the coffee taste, growing and making your own can be very worthwhile. Furthermore, chicory is very beneficial nutritionally and medicinally.
