What are some uses for cilantro other than salsa? I love the smell and taste. I don’t know if I am imagining it or not, but I almost feel better when I smell its fragrance. Are there any medicinal uses for it?

I listed some uses for cilantro in a previous answer which you can read on our website at http://www.richters.com/ Please go to the "Q&A" section and search for "using cilantro". Past articles on this subject will come up.

I am not aware of any specific medicinal uses for cilantro. All herbs do contain some phytochemical and vitamins/minerals (like all greens). We only use them in small amounts in foods usually (except maybe basil pesto) for their flavour. They help make other healthy foods taste better. The aromatherapy we enjoy from smelling and using fresh herbs when cooking does have psychological benefits, as do other pleasant smells. I am sure it positively affects our brain chemistry and therefore the rest of our bodies in some way. Cilantro has a bit of a citrus aroma which you may be particularly pleased by.
