What does cardamom taste like? I have a diet tea recipe that has 1/4 tsp. in it.

Cardamom has a spicy-sweet taste with lemony undertones and a pungent fragrance. Small dark seeds inside the small oval pods are ground and used in recipes for breads, loaves, cakes and cookies. It is widely used in cuisines of India and Scandinavia. Sometimes the whole seed pod is used when brewing tea such as Chai Tea which is popular these days.
