Received Dried Herbs by Mistake: Are They Edible?

I received an order with dried leaves of blessed thistle, eucalyptus, English lavender and lily of the valley. Can any of these be used for cooking and how? Also, I don’t know what to do with or what purpose these leaves could serve. I accidentally ordered these instead of the seeds or plants. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.

Lily of the valley -- not edible.

Blessed Thistle -- used medicinally as a tea, can induce vomiting; fresh leaves and roots have been eaten in the past, in some countries

Eucalyptus -- not edible, used topically to reduce infections.

English Lavender -- mainly the flowers are used in cooking. Must be organic or "food grade" meaning that it has not been sprayed with insecticides or herbicides.

Please refer to the Richters Q&A for previously answered questions on lavender or visit my web site www.yvonnetremblay.com under the Herb Directory for cooking uses.

[Editor’s note: Because Richters sells seeds, plants and dried herbs, it is easy to order the wrong products. Richters will issue a credit which may be used towards an order of seeds and plants. A customer service representative will contact you shortly.]
