Caring for Jasmine

I have a jasmine plant I am growing indoors, and while it is putting out new growth, the leaves only a few weeks old are turning brown starting from the tips. Can you tell me if I am over/under watering or over/under fertilizing, or doing something else? It sits in a south facing window and it gets good sunlight.

I suspect your jasmine does not like the dry air around your windowsill. Heating elements are usually placed under windows so the plants there have a cold draft from the window and a hot dry draft from the heaters. You could try placing the pot onto a tray of pebbles that you half fill with water. It will raise the local humidity and interupt the flows of cold and hot air. Of course if your windows are not well -insulated that growing tip could have frozen during a cold night.

Over-fertilizing could also result in tip-die-back. The solution for that is to place the pot into the sink and water repeatedly with rain-water, letting the water drain down the drain.
