Can you give me information on growing your blue and white seeded opium poppies in the Eastern U.S.

Poppies do not like root disturbance and do best if sown where they are to grow. They do best in a well-drained moist soil in a sunny location. The seeds should be surface sown and pressed into contact with the soil, but not buried, either in fall or in early spring. If you sow in the spring, store the seeds at 21 degrees Celsius (room temperature) during the winter. In very cold climates, spring sowing is recommended. Harvest seed as soon as capsules turn brown, but before the valves open, to prevent loss of seeds.
