Starting Gardenia Seeds

I was going to phone you on proper planting of gardenia seeds. I put several in a small pot with tropical soil and nothing has happened. This was done twice and still no results. Do I use different soil. I still have 1/2 pkg left. I believe I read that you need to put them in a warm spot like on top of the fridge. Can you clue me in before I use all my seeds?

According to Dr Norman C Deno, the seeds will germinate in the third week if the seedflat is kept at room temperature IN THE DARK. The germination rate drops to 20% if the seeds are dry stored for one year.

Put your previous seedflats into a dark cupboard, keep moist and they might yet come up in three weeks or less.

Make sure you plant the seeds into an acid mix such as mostly peatmoss.

If you do not have any success, let us know and we’ll send you a replacement packet.
