I am thinking of growing a large lavender garden in Seymour, Texas, USA; what zone is that? What type or types of lavender would work best in this environment? And what are the various uses of the best types to grow in this zone?

You can find your zone in our North American zone map on our web-site. Go to www.richters.com , then "News & Info", click on "Plant Hardiness Zone Maps" and then on "North American".

Our catalogue gives the zones any biennual or perennial plant will survive in. This is given on the same line as the botanical name. If you have no catalogue, our web-site has this information in the News & Info section under "Richters Info Centre", there click on "Richters Herb Growing Infobase", type in "lavender" and scroll down for all the lavenders.

All lavenders are used for their oil. It is used in pot-pourri, moth repellent applications and even in cooking.
