I hope you can help me. I planted Spanish lavender last year against a fence and it is covered in flowers, but the stems have all fallen to the ground. Do I need to do something to it for it to start growing straight up again? It looks awful, but the blooms are beautiful. Zone 7, Huntsville, AL, USA

All you can do this year is stake the plant much like a peony. Put a ring around the plant and attach the ring to about three upright supports that are pushed into the soil. Next year you might try a spot with sun all day as it might make the stems sturdier.
