GOLDENSEAL: I have 4 acres of virgin forest with populars, maples, ash, basswood, & a few oak. in NW Wisconsin, USA zip code 54766. Would the forest floor be a good planting area for the goldenseal roots?

I am not familiar how USA postal codes are distributed, but I do know that a good part of northern Wisconsin is in zone 3. Goldenseal is only hardy to zone 4. I suggest that you go to our web-site at www.richters.com , then in the "News&Info" section go to "Richters Info Centre" and there click on "Plant Hardiness Maps". Go to the North American map to see exactly where your property is located and if it is in the zone 4 portion. If yes, then the forest floor will be a great habitat for the goldenseal. They do well under maples and oaks.
