Thyme in Banff, Alberta, Zone 3b

Could you please tell me whether wild thyme will grow well in Banff, Alberta, Canada? I have east/south exposure in my front yard but of course there are lots of trees around too. Would the thyme be zone hardy? Would it be better, in terms of hardiness and flourishing, to grow thyme in containers or in a bed or in a lawn?

Since Banff is in zone 3b, you will not be able to over-winter it out of doors. The purple carpet lemon thyme is the only variety we offer that is hardy in your winters. You will have to grow the wild thyme in a container and move the container indoors for the winter. Do make sure you place the pot in a sunny location, since thyme needs full sun to grow a thick carpet.
