I bought a package of hops seeds and need any advice you can give me in planting them. In reading different websites, it says to soak the seeds for 24 hours, then place in the refrigerator for six weeks in Pro- mix. Is this correct?

According to the experiments carried out by Prof. Norman C. Deno of the Pennsylvania State University, hops germinates best if dry stored for 3 months at 4 degrees Celsius after harvest (we have done that for you already), then stored wet (in a wet paper towel loosely placed into a clean plastic bag or potted in Pro-Mix) for 3 months at 4 degrees Celsius. It will start to germinate in one to 4 weeks. The seed should be checked at least once a week to pick out the seedlings that have grown a root and plant them in Pro-Mix sterilized with boiling water. I am sure the method you found on the web-site works almost as well.
