I am 72 years old and cannot wait 5 years for my Chicago fig to bear fruit. How soon do these plants you offer produce? And can I plant them outside? I live in Mo. an its 4 degrees outside right now.

We have had the plant produce fruit in the greenhouse after two years when the bush is about 4 ft high. The fruit has also appeared sooner but the plant is still much smaller so you might get just a few figs. The plant is self pollinating so it is suitable for indoor growing. The fig tree is hardy in zone 7 and since you did not mention the exact location where you live you should compare your winter temperature to that of zone 7. For indoor growing place it in the brightest and warmest place in your house.
