I would like to grow some hops to use in dream pillows. Which variety would you recommend for that purpose? The books say to use "sweet " hops. Thank you so much. Maybe I should also add which variety do you speculate would grow in the upstate of South Carolina?

The dried flowers have a calming effect that promotes a restful sleep. You can purchase dried hops flowers from Richters. This variety is sweet smelling and has been used for dream pillows. The dried hops flowers are often mixed with sweet smelling blooms like rose petals or lavender. MOUNT HOOD HOPS is less bitter than most other varieties, in case you should come across this variety where you live. Hops grows in zones 3-8, so you should check the hardiness zone in your area. USDA regulations forbid hops plants to be shipped from Canada. You can also order seeds from Richters, but it will take a few years before you can get a good supply of flowers.
