I am looking for a plant/herb which is sold in Spain under the name of Lotus. Do you have any information regarding this plant/herb?

It is most likely the Lotus flower (Nelumbium speciosum). This plant is important in many herbal medical traditions including those of China, India, Tibet, Japan, Iran and Egypt. The water lily is sacred in Buddhism and Hinduism, representing the prospect of developing beauty and purity out of the foul swamp mud. The plant is an aquatic herb that bears beautiful flowers.

The unripe seeds are eaten and the ripe seeds are ground into flour. The flour is similar to arrowroot flour and is easily digested. The bitter embryo of the seeds is used for the treatment of fever, especially the intermittent kind.
