| | | Where Can I Sell My Roots in Indiana Answered by: Richard Alan Miller Question from: Brittany Posted on: November 06, 2007
I have about 2 lbs. of golden seal and I have no clue where I can sell them in Southern Indiana. Can you please help me soon?
I’m currently on vacation, so I don’t have my large database, but probably that would not help anyway. Why? No one buys 2 lb quantities of anything, including regional buyers. The only place which might even consider this small of a quantity would your local retail herb shops. Start there. That would probably be the one people interested in this small of a quantity.
I would also recommend you read my book "The Potential of Herbs As A Cash Crop." It has four chapters on marketing, to include lists of buyers and regional wholesalers. It breaks the markets down into three categories, farm-gate levels (2,000+ lbs.), regional buyers (200+lbs., and retail (1 lbs.).
Your volume request is only retail, and probably not very feasible for any kind of profit margin for effort.
