What herbs are the most common in Italian foods?
These most common herbs for Italian food are basil, Italian parsley, as well as rosemary, oregano and sage. Pesto is of course a popular sauce made from basil, garlic, pine nuts and Parmesan cheese. Basil is used often whenever tomatoes are served. Oregano, rosemary and basil in tomato sauces. Fresh sage is used in Veal Saltimbocca.
