Caffeine in Green Tea? Answered by: Conrad Richter Question from: Scott Charon Posted on: March 20, 2005
Does Green Tea contain caffeine? What are the ingredients of Green Tea? How is it different from the normal ice tea that people drink?
Yes, green tea has caffeine. Green tea is the unfermented form of black tea. Ordinary black tea is made by fermenting the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. The fermentation process concentrates caffeine somewhat, but the levels are less than an equivalent amount of regular coffee.
