Uses for Pineapple Sage Answered by: Yvonne Tremblay Question from: Wanda McDonald Posted on: June 13, 2005
What can I do with my pineapple sage? Give me some ideas and recipes if possible.
Pineapple sage has a tangy citrus-mint flavour that resembles pineapple. It can be added to fruit drinks and salads, to leek and potato soup. Use with chicken, pork and fish. Thread between meat on kebabs. Stir chopped leaves into cream cheese and spread on crackers. Make into herbal jellies as a condiment or glaze for meats. Make a honey: Warm 2/3 cup liquid honey in a glass measure; stir in 1/3 cup loosely packed leaves. Let infuse several days; heat honey again and strain out herbs. Use the honey to flavour fruit and yogurt, fruit salads, or tea. Pretty red flowers are edible and may be used to garnish desserts and salads.
